This CAGBC webinar is the second installment in a series featuring our 2026 Green Building Award Winners. Join us on August 18 to hear the story behind the 2026 Inspiring Home Award-winning project, GEOpark.
In this session, Kevin Stelzer, Christian Peterson and Julia Pascutto will describe the benefits of low carbon design using the CAGBC Zero Carbon Building Standard as a guideline to enhance building performance value. Using GEOpark as a case study, they will showcase the project's path to Zero Carbon Building certification and discuss how sustainability-driven decisions contributed to enhanced building performance and stronger financial outcomes.
About the Winning Project
The Inspiring Home Award is presented to the team responsible for outstanding achievement in a Canadian residential project. This award is for high-performing, sustainable single-family homes, duplexes townhomes, or multi-family buildings.
This year's winning project, GEOpark is a 6-story high-performance multi-unit residential building MURB located in Kingston's Williamsville neighbourhood. Completed in August 2025, GEOpark is the first building in Kingston to achieve Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) Design certification.
GEOpark creates a unique opportunity for residents and local businesses to live, work, and thrive within the same community, supporting a vibrant, connected, and sustainable neighbourhood.
