Event highlights

LEED v5 was fundamentally restructured around carbon; it was redesigned to help drive the industry towards a decarbonized built environment across all major sources of emissions: operational, embodied, and transportation. LEED v5 provides a clear framework for delivering near-zero carbon buildings. This session will focus on the critical areas of LEED v5 BD+C that impact carbon and how decarbonization strategies are addressed, particularly operational carbon. LEED v5 O+M will be briefly touched on as well.

1. Understand how LEED v5 was restructured to shift the focus to decarbonization.
2. Review the critical changes to Energy & Atmosphere Category to understand how these reward operational decarbonization.
3. To gain insight into other areas of decarbonization within other LEED v5 BD+C credits and LEED v5 O+M.
