Renewable Energy and Zero Carbon Buildings
DURATION: 1.5 hours
1.5 GBCI general education hours.
As Canada makes efforts to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, it's important to look more closely at alternative energy sources. Not only can renewable energy help with achieving Canada's carbon reduction goals, but it can also allow for significant cost savings if renewable energy sources are located onsite.
This course will explore some of the basics associated with energy efficient building design, before identifying available renewable energy sources and energy conversion technologies. Consideration will be given to different building typologies, as well as how renewable energy sources can help in achieving the goals of zero carbon buildings.
Real-world examples will be shared to demonstrate different renewable energy strategies in practice.
This course is delivered by Vladimir Mikler of Integral Group.
